About Us
English and American owned Ati Divers is located within La Iguana Perdida Hotel, Santa Cruz La Laguna on the shores of Lake Atitlan. We are reachable by boat from Panajachel, San Pedro and other towns on the lake.
Immediately in front of the Santa Cruz public dock, we are open all year. Come and talk to us about the diving courses we offer, the best places to snorkel, or just to have a chat about diving in the lake and what you can see.
Our philosophy is one of quality and safety. The groups of divers we take out will never number more than three customers and will often be smaller. This allows us to make our dives safe and enjoyable. Not only can we give you our full attention, but we can enjoy the dive with you more.
History of Ati Divers
Ati Divers and La Iguana Perdida have been in Santa Cruz since 1996 when Deedle Denman, from the United Kingdom, came to take part in an underwater lake mapping project. When the project fell through, she opened a dive centre and hotel instead! Deedle now runs the Iguana with her American
husband Dave who, incidentally, started out as a hotel guest in 2001. We have two PADI instructors teaching and diving here.

Andy, from the UK, has been an instructor for over 3 years and has been diving in Lake Atitlan for more than two years. He has done over 500 dives in this lake alone. His favorite dive site is Agua Caliente where after putting your hands into hot volcanic mud you can hang around in "The Garden" to see the fish and plants that enjoy these warmer waters.

Allyson is from Portland, Oregon. She joined us in December 2011. Before that she was diving in the Puget sound in the North West US. Her favorite site is Arthur Kennedys where spectacular walls descend 25m down from the surface in this small bay.
In the 15 years we have been diving in our lake we have made over 3000 fun dives, taught more than 750 people to dive, and issued more than 1500 PADI certifications. If you want to experience Lake Atitlan from beneath the surface, we are the people to come to.
