Fun Dives                                                               One tank dive - $39 / Two tank dive - $74

Diving in a high altitude, fresh water lake provides a unique exerpience for novice and experienced divers alike! We keep groups small and relaxed, with bottom times averaging around 45 minutes.

Our fun dives are led by experienced instructors and will leave with just one diver, with all equipment included in the price. We generally meet at 8am for breakfast at La Iguana Perdida before heading up to the dive shop to gear up and have the predive briefing. We hit the water around 9.30am, returning for a long service interval in the sun around 10.30am, before heading out on the second dive of the day around 11.30am. The fun diving day is normally over around 1pm, just in time for lunch!

We will show you the best of the stunning underwater world of Lake Atitlan - from flooded buildings to volcanic rock walls, from swim-throughs to volcanic hot mud, waterfalls of freshwater algae to freshwater fish, crabs and snails! Then surface to amazing views of this volcano ringed caldera.

Haven't dived for a while?

No problem - a refresher is just a further $15! One of our instructors will go over equipment set up and function, along with a theory review and a few exercises at the beginning of the dive to make sure you are comfortable and safe in the water.

Interested in learning more about diving at altitude?

For only $30 more, you can turn your two tank fun dive into the PADI Altitude Speciality Course!  Click here for more information about this course.

Please note that you cannot leave the lake the same day as diving due to the change in atmospheric pressure associated with the ascent.

On the cliff above the site sits an impressive house. Under the water this is a site of breathtaking cliffs, overhangs, walls and volcanic scenery. A great place to dive a little deeper, but the volcanic scenery is great shallow too.

El Arbol

El Arbol

Starting in the shallows we descend past a ghost like sunken tree, follow a volcanic wall and swim between giant boulders, before shallowing up amongst flooded docks and walls.

Punta de Loma

Punta de Loma

This dive starts on one side of the point amongst flooded terraces and an underwater dock and ends on the other in the great volcanic scenery. In between drop down to 20 meters and look for big crabs under the giant volcanic boulders.

Punta Caliente

Punta Caliente

A lovely bay with some of the best volcanic formations. Pyramid shaped rocks and points that extend deep down into the lake. We swim past sunken docks and abandoned gardens to a hidden hot spot, before ending at a flooded house.

Rambo II

Rambo II

A more advanced wall dive with a vertical swim through. Starting at 22m this chimney type space is only big enough for one diver at a time. Go through it, and emerge at the other end at 15m. Then continue up past volcanic formations and walls, plants fish and crabs.
